Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our psychology services, Medicare rebates, telehealth, and the booking process.

Getting Started

How do I book my first appointment?

You can book a session by clicking the 'Book Session' button on our website, calling us directly at (02) 6105 9019, or filling out our contact form. We'll get back to you within one business day to confirm your appointment and answer any initial questions you may have.

What happens in my first session?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know you and understand your needs. We'll talk about your current situation, background and goals for therapy, as well as what you hope to achieve. This conversation helps us develop a personalised treatment plan. It's completely normal to feel a bit nervous, and we'll guide you through each step and make sure you feel comfortable throughout the process.

Do I need a referral to see a therapist?

You don't need a referral to book a private session. However, if you want to access Medicare rebates, you'll need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. This allows you to receive up to 10 subsidised sessions per calendar year.

How do I choose the right therapist for me?

We'll match you with a therapist based on your needs, preferences, and their areas of expertise. During the booking process, we can discuss your situation and recommend the best fit. It's completely okay to request a different therapist if the match doesn't feel right.

Telehealth

Do you offer online/telehealth sessions?

Yes, we offer secure video sessions for clients who prefer online therapy or cannot attend in-person appointments. Our telehealth platform is private, easy to use, and provides the same quality of care. Many clients find it more convenient and comfortable.

Is telehealth as effective as in-person therapy?

Research shows that telehealth therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions for most issues. It offers flexibility, eliminates travel time, and can be done from a comfortable, private space of your choice. We'll discuss whether telehealth or in-person sessions are best for your situation.

What do I need for a telehealth session?

You'll need a device with a camera and microphone (computer, tablet, or smartphone), a stable internet connection, and a private, quiet space. We'll send you a secure link before your appointment - simply click it at your session time. No downloads or special software required.
