About Jaclyn
Background, therapeutic approach, and clinical philosophy
Jaclyn Dunkley is the Founder and Clinical Director of Sandstones Psychology.
She is a qualified social worker with more than 20 years' experience across community services, spanning direct clinical work with children, young people and families through to senior leadership of large service teams, most recently as Director of Counselling and Family Services at Marymead CatholicCare Canberra and Goulburn. Her practice areas have included counselling across school, family and relationship, EAP, mental health, and NDIS settings, alongside behaviour support. She has also provided professional supervision in both clinical and leadership capacities.
Jaclyn holds a Master of Social Work, a Master of Human Services (Leadership) and a Bachelor of Behavioural Science, and is currently completing her MBA. This mix of clinical depth and executive leadership shapes how she has built Sandstones, a practice where strong governance and genuine care are treated as equally important, not one at the expense of the other.
She founded Sandstones to offer a more personal experience of psychology, counselling and assessment. She wants people to feel heard, understand what happens next, and receive support shaped around their own circumstances rather than a system that treats everyone the same. For Jaclyn, good outcomes start with people feeling seen as individuals, not moved through a system.
That standard now extends across the Sandstones team, who bring the same combination of clinical rigour and personal attention to every client, in a boutique setting shaped around how people feel, not just what they need.
