About Jacintha
Background, therapeutic approach, and clinical philosophy
Jacintha Edwin-Butler is a Clinical Psychologist with more than 20 years of experience across government, community and private practice settings in the Northern Territory and New South Wales.
Her work has supported children, adolescents, adults, couples and families through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges and life transitions. Her experience includes psychological and psychometric assessment, individual and group therapy, family consultations, and parenting programs.
Jacintha spent more than a decade at Centacare Bathurst, including roles as Manager and Clinical Lead of the School Wellbeing Program. She has also provided psychological support to Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services employees and their families, and worked with Anglicare NT, Relationships Australia NT and NT Correctional Services. Her academic experience includes coordinating a clinical psychology subject at Charles Sturt University and guest lecturing at Charles Darwin University.
She holds a Master of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from Charles Sturt University. Her published practitioner biography also lists a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Charles Darwin University and a Graduate Diploma in Couple and Family Therapy. Further study covers neuropsychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy with children and adolescents, forensic behavioural science, and leadership and management.
